Winter storm moves St. John’s Women’s March from City Hall to Facebook wall

A Sister March to protest the inauguration of United States President Donald Trump was disrupted in St. John’s recently, but local residents were still able to voice their objections to Trump’s controversial statements, policies and behaviour affecting women.

The Women’s March on Washington took place Saturday, Jan. 21, in protest of United States President Donald Trump’s inauguration one day earlier. An estimated 500,000 people attended the Washington, D.C., march, while millions more took part in “Sister Marches” around the world. A Sister March was scheduled to take place at St. John’s City Hall, but as you’ll hear, Saturday’s winter storm forced organizers to move the event from the city hall to their Facebook wall.
