CNA lockdown lifted

Former college student was behind threat.

The Prince Phillip Drive campus lockdown has been lifted.

College of the North Atlantic student Karly Philpott was in the library at the time.

“I mean, I guess it opens up the idea of this can happen anywhere right? Philpott said. “I don’t know if it’s that big of a threat … I don’t know if it’s true or not but it’s still pretty scary to think about.”

Reports are varied, but Kicker has confirmed the threat was real and made by a former student.

College student Debra Baker was in the 3 Rooms cafeteria  in the lobby when the lockdown occurred.

“I didn’t foresee this happening at all,” said Baker.  “I was really surprised when they all came into 3 Rooms and told us we all had to, you know, come into the library and there was a threat of a weapon. I did not see that coming at all.

“There were a bunch of people in there and there were just, I guess, a couple of people, like college administration or whatever came into the room and said ‘everybody has to get out of here immediately. You have to go into a classroom or a library but it seemed that everybody in that area was told to go into the library and everyone just kind of filed into there.”

There were no injuries. CNA administration would not comment and police haven’t released any information.
