A mummer’s horror story

Bhaveek Makan of Rendering Glint Films in Vancouver has roots in Newfoundland and wants to share a piece of home with the rest of the world.

Does anyone else find mummers to be exceptionally creepy? Newfoundlanders are likely the only people in the world to open their doors to groups of masked strangers and offer them food and drink . Bhaveek Makan is working on a mummers horror film, and shares his story with Kicker.


Bhaveek Makan grew up in Twillingate before moving to Calgary and eventually Vancouver. He is currently working on Lovely Mummers, a mummer inspired horror film. Submitted photo.
